Sound Healing or Vibrational Medicine

Everything in the Universe is composed of vibrations. Albert Einstein famously said, “Concerning matter, we have been all wrong. What we have called matter is energy, whose vibration has been so lowered as to be perceptible to the senses. There is no matter.” This includes everything: our furniture, our food, our homes, plants, and most personally, our own bodies.

As someone who worked in elecronics and technical fields for many years, this statement rings true. We… our bodies… are composed of cells, which are composed of molecules, which are made up of atoms, which are in turn made up of protons, neutrons, and electrons. These micro-micro-sized “things” are not solid. They simply are packets of energy that vibrate at specific frequencies.

Because all matter is composed of vibrating energy, it makes perfect sense that vibrations such as light waves and sound waves can have either harmful or helpful effects  upon our bodies.

For centuries… millenia, actually… healers have used sound as a part of healing. Sometimes it was with chanting… sometimes it was with bells or chimes… sometimes it was with drums… sometimes it was with the specialized instruments called singing bowls, whether made of metal or crystal… sometimes it was through instruments such as the didgeridoo from Australia, rain sticks, whistles, or even lithophones–rocks that are struck or stroked to make musical tones.

Since beginning my energy therapy practice, I slowly adopted various forms of sound therapy; first with music, then with drumming and rattling, then with metal Tibetan singing bowls. I moved on to tuning forks, and have recently added crystal singing bowls to my vibrational medicine bag of tools. Often, I combine these types of vibrational medicine with my other modalities. I have achieved Expert Level Sound Healer certification through  Life Changing Energy.

I have used a variety of vibrational medicine tools with individual clients, and in groups, in shamanic healing circles and in what are called sound baths.

In-Office Sound Therapy

$60/session

For in-office sound therapy, you come to me and allow me to apply whatever sound therapy modality seems appropriate at the time. This may mean singing bowls, tuning forks, drumming, or recordings of music or nature sounds. This may be a combination of any of these, and perhaps be accompanied by a guided meditation. Also, during this therapeutic session, Reiki may be administered at the same time.

Each session will typically last for one hour or less.

Group Sound Therapy (Sound Bath)

Pricing per session varies

For a sound bath, a group of participants will typically meet in some location where the sound bath will be uninterrupted. This may be outside in a comfortable setting, in a yoga studio, in a church sanctuary, or any place that is open and allows the room for participants to lie comfortably on the floor, usually on yoga mats or folded blankets.

Each session will typically last for one hour or less.
